Click here.<\/span><\/footer>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Sleep is crucial, especially for <span class=\"waslinkname\">pregnant women<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Inadequate sleep during pregnancy can have many negative effects, including neurodevelopmental delays for the child, according to a new study.<\/p>\n<p>The research, published in the Endocrine Society\u2019s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology &amp; Metabolism, examined the effects of <span class=\"waslinkname\">short sleep duration (SSD)<\/span> \u2014 defined as sleeping fewer than seven hours per night \u2014 on pregnant women.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"waslinkname\"><strong>AMERICANS ARE HAVING FEWER BABIES AS BIRTH RATE HITS HISTORIC LOW, CDC REVEALS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The China-based researchers analyzed sleep data from 7,059 mother-child pairs from three Chinese hospitals. Zhu added.<\/p>\n<p>The study did have some potential limitations, the researchers acknowledged.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As an observational study, we can only establish associations rather than causality,&#8221;
