FIFA 23: Which FUT Icons will be in the new game?

With the new FIFA 23 almost upon us, it’s time to get excited about which Icons will be in the Ultimate Team part of the game.

While the full list of Icons is yet to revealed, EA Sports have teased with the release of three new ones.

The Sporting News has all the latest information on Icons – both new and old – in FIFA 23.

Which FUT Icons will be in FIFA 23?

EA Sports have been tight-lipped about the full list Icons in FIFA 23’s Ultimate Team game mode – with only three new ones being announced so far.

There is expected to be a number of Icon additions, while others will be removed from the game.

These announcements will come as we get closer to the release of the game on September 27.

The three new Icons revealed for FIFA 23 currently are Gerd Muller, Jairzinho and Xabi Alonso.

Gerd Muller

Muller was a legendary prolific striker for Bayern Munich and West Germany through the 1960s and 70s.

He still holds many Bundesliga scoring records including most goals, most hat-tricks, most seasons as top scorer and most goals in a season.

Muller also scored an incredible 68 goals in just 62 games for West Germany, including 10 at the 1970 World Cup, while he scored the winner in the final at the 1974 World Cup on home soil.

Jairzinho

Right winger Jairzinho has a World Cup achievement that no other player has.

He scored in every match from group stage to the final at the 1970 World Cup as Brazil won the tournament for a third time.

Jairzinho was called ‘The Hurricane’ because of the incredible power and speed he possessed.

Xabi Alonso

Alonso became a superstar during his stints at Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, winning the Champions League with the Reds and Madrid, while also lifting four league titles across those clubs.

With Spain, he won a World Cup in 2010 and two European Championships in 2008 and 2012 during his 114 caps.

Alonso was the midfield general for all of this teams, controlling the game and breaking it open with a defence-splitting pass.
