severe obesity has increased, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">A report compiled by the <span class=\"waslinkname\">CDC&#8217;s National Center for Health Statistics<\/span> found that between August 2021 and August 2023, the rate of obesity among the nation&#8217;s adults was approximately 40.3%.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the rate of obesity decline in the obesity rate is too small to be considered a reversal of the <span class=\"waslinkname\">nationwide epidemic<\/span>, but it does mark a distinct break from past years.<\/p>\n<p>Since was lower than in women (12.1%) overall and for each age group,&#8221; the CDC found. &#8220;Among men, the prevalence was highest in those ages 40\u201359. Among women, the prevalence was higher in those ages 20\u201339 and 40\u201359 than in those age 60 and older.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One of the long-term goals of the CDC&#8217;s national &#8220;Healthy People 2030&#8221; plan is &#8220;helping people eat healthy and get enough physical activity to reach and maintain a healthy weight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Healthy People 2030&#8221; aims at <span class=\"waslinkname\">reducing the rate of obesity<\/span> to below 38.6% by 2030 but has noted the problem is only &#8220;getting worse.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Join Fox News for access to this content You have reached your maximum number of articles.
