Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce returns to the world stage in sports. This isn\u2019t her first rodeo, however. She has been a mainstay in track and field for several years, winning eight medals and taking home three gold medals.<\/p>\n

She may be 37, but like all older athletes, the term \u201cFather Time\u201d eventually catches up to everyone. Let’s hope not for the Jamaican sprinter\u2014at least not for a few weeks. She told Olympics.com<\/span> that the Paris Olympics would be her final go-around, capping a long career.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been challenging, but I was able to, with grit, perseverance, and determination, secure a spot on the team and give myself the opportunity to represent Jamaica again at the Olympics,\u201d Fraser-Pryce told reporters<\/span> after her race June 28.<\/p>\n

Whether or not Jamaica has the talent to compete with the U.S. will be answered shortly after the Olympics begin.<\/p>\n

Fraser-Pryce will compete in her fifth Olympic Games, adding to the mix of newcomers and longtime returners to the festivities.<\/p>\n
