Who do Yankees play next?
With the Guardians-Tigers series going to a Game 5 on Saturday night, the Yankees will have to wait to see who they play next. The Guardians forced a deciding Game 5 with its win in Detroit on Thursday, meaning they will go back to Cleveland with a chance to move on. However, the Tigers will be using Tarik Skubal, the expected AL Cy Young winner, giving them the pitching edge in the matchup.
The winner of Saturday’s game will advance to the next round and play the Yankees in the ALCS.
When does the ALCS start?
The ALCS is set to begin Monday night in the Bronx, with the Yankees playing host after winning more regular season games than their opponent. By finishing off the Royals to avoid a Game 5, New York gets to rest for three days over the weekend before picking back up at the beginning of next week.
