Titans predicted to add 98 TD QB, star 26 TD WR in 2025 to revamp offense

After a major shakeup in the draft order following Week 17’s slate of games, the Tennessee Titans now own the No.2 overall pick. Paired with the fact that Tennessee also has $65 million in cap space for 2025, their roster will look completely different next season.

With a clear need at quarterback, Josh Edwards of CBS Sports predicted a wild scenario where Tennessee signs Sam Darnold and drafts Tetairoa McMillan in the offseason.

In this scenario, the presumption is that Sam Darnold signs with Tennessee in free agency and the Titans opt not to go down the path chosen by Atlanta a year ago. If Minnesota can’t afford to bring Darnold back, then Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan may be more inclined to prove himself with a veteran rather than developing another young quarterback who may or may not work out.

This would be a perfect offseason for the Titans, who would be going the veteran quarterback route once again, just as they did when acquiring Ryan Tannehill in 2019.

Darnold has had a career resurgence this season with the Minnesota Vikings, as he’s become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The former No.3 overall pick in 2018 has thrown for 4,153 yards with 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for the Vikings this year, well on his way to a major payday in 2025.

If the Titans go this route, they’ll also need to provide him with weapons. Calvin Ridley is solid, but adding McMillan with the No.2 overall pick wouldn’t be a bad idea. McMillan is coming off of a 1,319 yard, eight touchdown season at Arizona. In four years with the Wildcats, he’s caught 213 passes for 3,423 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Tennessee would have to be ecstatic with this scenario.
