Inter Milan reportedly have little interest in a swap deal to sign Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as they are close to finalizing a new contract for Denzel Dumfries.
Manchester United is looking to strengthen their right-back position and is open to selling Wan-Bissaka this summer. Among the options being considered by the club are Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich, Vanderson of AS Monaco, and the long-time target of Erik ten Hag, Dumfries.
Dumfries is coming off a mixed season, where he started only 19 times in Serie A. Overall, he made 31 appearances, scoring four goals and providing five assists in the process. Moreover, he also starred for the Dutch side at the European Championship, making five appearances to help them reach the last four.
As per Corriere dello Sport (via The Faithful MUFC), the Red Devils lodged a swap proposal to sign the Dutch international from Inter Milan through intermediaries, offering the services of outcast Aaron Wan-Bissaka in exchange.
However, Inter “did not warm up” the proposal and opted to turn down the bid for the Oranje star, whose current deal at the San Siro will expire in 2025.
La Gazzetta dello Sport now insist that an agreement over a new contract between Dumfries and Inter has already been reached.

The report adds that Bayern star Noussair Mazraoui is Erik ten Hag’s first-choice target and the right-back’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, is working hard to earn his client an Old Trafford move after a move to West Ham collapsed.
While United are willing to part ways with Wan-Bissaka, they are seeking around £15 million ($20m) for the 26-year-old defender.
With Inter now out of contention to sign Wan-Bissaka, the 26-year-old’s most likely destination may be West Ham United, who are set to turn their attention back on reaching a reaching middle ground over a fee in negotiations with Man United after failing to land Mazraoui.
