After Mike Tyson got forced off a summer fight against Jake Paul, another Mike stepped up to the plate in Mike Perry. The contest in Tampa looks to be an all-out brawl.
Paul lost against Tommy Fury in 2023, his first fight against a legitimate boxer. “The Problem Child” then returned to facing MMA fighters, beating the durable Nate Diaz. Paul returns to his roots after beating two legitimate but unknown boxers, Andre August and Ryan Bourland.

Perry is unlike any other opponent Paul has faced before. “Platinum” went 7-8 with the UFC and is 5-0 in bare-knuckle fighting. He does have experience in boxing, competing in the ring in 2015. Known as a heavy puncher, Perry has a simple game plan when facing Paul.
“I want to enjoy my time in the ring and get my rounds in, somewhere in there I’ve got to be able to stop him… I feel like a Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis sometimes, I don’t always throw a lot of punches, but the ones I do throw, some of them bad boys are going to land significantly and do the damage to break this kid down,” Perry told ESPN via Bloody Elbow.
