Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders projected as next franchise QB for Seattle Seahawks

If you’re an NFL fan, you probably already know that the Seattle Seahawks are going to be in the market for a quarterback in the near future — starter Geno Smith is about to turn 34 years old and is entering his 12th season in 2024.

That’s why PFF has Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders pegged as an elite offensive player for the Seahawks to keep an eye on ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, when they might have a shot at taking the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders threw for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in 11 games in 2023 after playing his first two seasons for his father at Jackson State, an HBCU school.

From PFF: “With Geno Smith in the final year of his contract with guaranteed money, there is a world where the Seahawks are looking for a young franchise quarterback to invest in next offseason. The projections for Sanders are all over the place. Some view him as a top-10 pick, while others believe he’s closer to a third-rounder. His play under pressure is impressive, but his arm talent might lead to inconsistent success in the NFL. Hopefully, a better offensive line in front of him will paint a clearer picture in 2024.”

Colorado opens the 2024 season at home on Aug. 29 against FCS North Dakota State.
