The Chicago Bears could be losing some key free agents this offseason. Among their free agents is a playmaker they acquired through trade last offseason.
Keenan Allen had an average first season with the Bears. The team missed the playoffs and he dealt with some injuries along the way, but now he is a free agent. Fantasy Life’s Sam Wallace predicted that Allen will sign with the Commanders in free agency.
“It’s so hard not to root for the Commanders considering everything they’ve gone through as a franchise, and Allen has always been a likable, respected player throughout his career,” wrote Wallace. “This type of move makes too much sense for both sides.”
Allen is a six-time Pro Bowler and has 11,274 career yards. He is not long removed from his most recent Pro Bowl season which came in 2023. He only had 744 yards last season but found the end zone seven times. He could be an asset for Jayden Daniels as an option behind Terry McLaurin.
“As mentioned above, I’ve been coming around on the idea that the Washington Commanders add some WR help this offseason,” wrote Wallace. “As the team looks to run it back with Daniels & McLaurin, a savvy, reliable veteran like Allen could help stabilize the offense and provide another outlet for Daniels in big moments.”
The Commanders are an ascending team and could be an attractive destination for a veteran like Allen.
